Envirotech Façade Solutions has started its design process with a blank sheet. Instead of short cutting the process and taking the traditional shopfront suites of the 1960’s, EFS has instead designed a range of commercial suites which meet or exceed todays’ requirements, codes and architectural trends.
The 150SGF system is a 150mm x 60mm single glazed front glazed system designed to be used in most commercial and semi commercial applications. This suite also caters for commercial and residential multi storey applications with slab edge cover and stack joint options. The 150mm front glazed system not only allows for a greater flexibility in design but also larger spans under increased wind-loads than its 101mm counter-part. This is combined with the knowledge that when coupled with the stack joint option, water ratings and structural movements are easily catered for.
The system has a glazing pocket opening width of 21mm, which allows for the use of glass up to 13.52mm thick while still providing a minimum glass cover of up to 12mm ensuring compliance to AS1288. These design features translate into designers and fabricators having the ability to glaze thicker and therefore larger pieces of energy efficient glass than many of the other suites currently on offer to the market.
This new design has a male and female mullion which allows for a glass clearance of at least 6mm while using up to 13.52mm glass, significantly reducing the risk of scratching the frame or damaging the glass during glass installation.
From a performance perspective these features mean that designers need not compromise their designs in order to achieve performance requirements for thermal, acoustic, structural and water ratings.
